The Center has a philosophy based on current early childhood education and care based on development theory and research, based on the following principles:
• the importance of the family and community
• respect for ethnic, cultural and linguistic backgrounds
• recognition that collaborative, participatory relationships among children, parents, teachers, and
create powerful and successful education and care programs and improve the quality of life in the
community
• the rights of all children to receive education and care services that maximize their potential
• a stimulating, educationally-rich environment for children to make sense of their world
• The belief that proper guidance of children occurs in an atmosphere of respect, positive relationships, non-violent conflict resolution and cooperation to promote the welfare of the group.
Childcare
State Subsidized Childcare Services for children aged 3 to 5 years old for parents or guardians who are working, attending college or a trade school, training, or seeking employment. We offer full and part time services.
Kindergarten Readiness Curriculum
We provide a high quality, educational and caring environment for fostering children’s physical, social, emotional, cognitive, and creative development. Classrooms include areas for dramatic play, writing, math, reading, science (dinosaurs, bugs, plants),
With a childcare license capacity for 48 children, Orange Cove Day Care runs 2 classrooms with 4-6 teachers and aids. The classrooms offer play and education areas for dramatic play, writing, math, science, and art, reading libraries, and quiet areas.
The play yard is full of a play structure, sandbox, shade trees, and areas for walking and tricycles.
We have age-appropriate toys, books, and equipment, as well as a nutritious meal program.
Our dedicated and caring staff are passionate about early childhood education and have the experience and qualifications to provide high-quality care. We maintain low teacher-to-child ratios to ensure individual attention and support.
Our lead teachers are state-certified, with either a Master, Associate or Teacher permit, and our aids have a minimum of 6 child development units, though many of our aids have between 12 and 24 units in child development.
We understand the importance of working together with parents to support each child's development. Our parent resources include regular communication, parent-teacher conferences, and a parent committee.
We support parents who are attempting to face challenges in an ever-changing economic world, while facing the demands of parenting through programs and resources, many of which can be found in our directory binder and parent bulletin board which include immigration and legal assistance, health clinics, parenting class listings, job placement agencies, and other health and wellness information. We also partner with local law enforcement, the fire department and the City of Orange Cove itself for local events such as parades and festivals.
We would love to hear from you and answer any questions you may have about our programs and services.
