Full and Part Time, Pre-Kindergarten and Transitional Kindergarten (TK).
While anyone can apply, the program prioritizes low income and migrant workers, and/or those who need childcare while working, seeking employment, training, or while attending school.
The cost of childcare is calculated based on a household's monthly income. We ask for current income from all sources (check stubs) for the last month. Ex. Paystubs,
welfare, disability, child support, unemployment, etc. For parents with
fluctuating income due to agricultural, migrant or seasonal work, income is computed
by averaging income from the 12 months preceding the initial certification.
Daycares typically cater to children between 18 months old and three years old. Preschool is usually intended for four-year-olds that are one year away from starting kindergarten. The Julia A. Lopez Child Development Center has CCTR infant program starting at 8 months and goes to 2 years, and a CSPP Program for children aged 2 to 5 years. The Orange Cove Day Care serves families of children between the ages of 2 and 5 years.
